Highlands Cooperative Association, a nonprofit organization under
the laws of the state of Michigan.
Highlands Cooperative was formed in the late 60's/early 70's to
provide a reasonably priced housing option to qualified Members. We
are located on over 25 acres in south Lansing, close to shopping,
restaurants, gyms, parks, schools, and I-96. The Cooperative is made
up of 414 townhomes (1, 2 and 3 bedrooms) with private front
and back entrances, full basements, and no one living above or below
you.
As a Member of Highlands Cooperative Association, you share in the
ownership of the Cooperative. Unlike condominiums, you do not own
your individual townhome, nor do you have the liability of a
mortgage or property tax responsibilities. Membership entitles you
to the private use of your townhome, and one vote (per townhome) in
the operation of the corporation.
